ANGLO-SAXON MYTHOLOGY, MIGRATION & MAGIC - Tony Linsell (Anglo-Saxon Books, 1994)
Scarce, 1st edition hardback with dust-jacket. 174 pages.
This is a large format introduction to the Anglo-Saxon world, focusing on its spiritual and literary heritage. A large part of the book is dedicated to the Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem, the most complete account of runic writing we have inherited. The runic signs and riddles which accompany each of them (presented in Old English and modern translation) are dramatically brought to life by Brian Partridge's evocative drawings, with two pages dedicated to each rune and its accompanying illustration. These illustrations would later be issued as a set of Rune Cards which are now incredibly scarce. The illustrations and poems along make this book an essential volume for a runic practitioner interested in the Anglo Saxon Futhorc.
Condition : The book is in very good, clean and unmarked condition with a slight bump to front top corner. The dust-jacket is complete yet has some creasing around the top spine and across the top edge and thus priced accordingly.
