THE DIARY OF A MODERN ALCHEMIST - J.H.Reyner (Neville Spearman 1974)
Hardback with dust-jacket. 156 pages. Silver, reflective jacket.
J.H.Reyner was trained as a scientist. A chance encounter brought him into contact with Dr Maurice Nicoll whose philosophy and work provided an entirely new horizon. He discovered that science and religion are not incompatible, but are complementary aspects of a Universe of far greater magnificence than he had formerly envisaged, and which gradually began to acquire for him a living reality. The process involved a kind of psychological alchemy by which the everyday experiences of life are transformed in quality. They become part of a more meaningful pattern of which one is aware simultaneously with the necessary life activities. The author endeavours to illustrate in this book how this may be achieved in practice. An important resource for students of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky's teaching specifically but highly useful for spiritual practitioners more widely.
Condition: Very Good. Some light edge-wear to jacket and boards. Some light foxing to end papers. Otherwise unmarked internally. A very nice copy.
