THE GOLDEN DAWN - Israel Regardie (HB, Llewellyn, 1978) (Jake Stratton-Kent copy)
THE GOLDEN DAWN - Israel Regardie (Llewellyn, 1978)
Hardback. 3rd Printing, 1978. From the library of Jake Stratton-Kent.
All four volumes in one hardback binding. Israel Regardie's detailed seminal exposition of the entire Golden Dawn system. What makes this copy unique is that this copy was Jake Stratton-Kent's working study copy from his own personal library. It includes his magical name of the time hand-written on the first page. It also includes various annotations, marginalia, under-lining and comments throughout. A very interesting copy from one of the most important practitioners of the late 20th and early 21st century. It also comes with a small "From the Library of Jake Stratton-Kent" card from the original sale
Condition: As it was Jake's working copy it, it's rather tatty on the outside. It's been well -handled with extensive wear to boards, edges and spine. Page-block edges are rather discoloured and as Jake was a smoker, there is a smokey odour to the book. It is annotated with margin comments etc as mentioned above. Internally the book is good and the binding is sound. A unique copy.
