COMMENTARIES ON THE HOLY BOOKS - And Other Papers. The Equinox 4, Vol. 1. - Aleister Crowley (Samuel Weiser, 1996)

Paperback. 382 pages. Long out of print

This new issue of the Equinox is a companion volume to The Holy Books of Thelema (also published by Samuel Weiser), and a coherent text book in it s own right. It covers the essentials of the A.:A.: system of initiation, from the preliminary stage of Student to the attainment of the Knowledge and Conversion of the Holy Guardian Angel.

The centerpiece of the book is the Master Therion's penetrating commentary to the inspired writing The Book Of The Heart Girt With A Serpent (Liber LXV), General J.F.C. Fuller's paintings for the Temple of the A.:A.: (presented here in colour) and Crowley's illuminating manuscript for an A.:A.: Ritual for the Neophyte, Liber 671 vel Pyramidos. Amongst many other commentaries, Madame Blavatsky's inspired text, The Voice of the Silence is also included, with Crowley's commentary.

Condition: Very Good / Near Fine. The lightest hint of edge-wear to covers and corners. Otherwise an exceptional copy of this scarce collection.
